NDU believes that an effective teacher evaluation system is an informative process that provides support.  This past year the state department, along with other state educational organizations, drafted teacher evaluation guidelines.  These guidelines were drafted based on the research from other state evaluation systems and effective teaching models. Although the evaluation subcommittee finalized the guidelines in April of 2014, they have yet to be officially adopted by NDDPI.

NDU does not support the "significant" use of student achievement to determine teacher effectiveness.
