BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota United Foundation is proud to announce that it helped members save a combined $137,200 on professional development costs during the 2024-2025 school year.

The NDU Foundation pays each professional development course fee for NDU members, a savings of $50.00 per course. This past school year, 2,744 members enrolled in professional development courses through NDU, collectively saving $137,200.

“Professional development is essential, but it shouldn’t be a financial burden,” said Brenda Seehafer, chair of the ND United Foundation. “By lowering these costs, we’re not just supporting our state’s educators, we’re ensuring stronger classrooms and brighter futures for North Dakota students. This program is an investment in both educators and the children they serve.”

In North Dakota, K-12 teachers must complete six professional development credits every five years. Without support from the Foundation, fulfilling that requirement through NDU would cost educators up to $600. By lowering that barrier, the NDU Foundation ensures educators can continue to grow professionally while focusing their energy where it matters most: their students.
