Our staff at North Dakota United, the state’s largest union of public educators and employees, added to new faces this summer. Please join us in welcoming Grant Kraft as field consultant for our southeast region, and Matt Liebel as field consultant for our northwest region.

Grant Kraft began his new role as field consultant in our Fargo office in June. Field consultants are responsible for working with local education associations on members’ rights, member recruitment and retention, leadership training and development, professional issues, collective bargaining, political action and community partnerships. He will work primarily with locals in the southeastern part of the state.

Grant received both a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of North Dakota, as well as a Master of Science degree in Youth Development Leadership. Prior to working for ND United, he taught for nine years, mostly as a middle school world language teacher. Grant was also very active as a member and leader of the Fargo Education Association, having served as negotiations committee chair, governance committee chair, vice president and president.

Kraft lives in Fargo and enjoys hammocking in the parks and going for evening walks along the river. He describes himself as a semi-pro scavenger hunter, having won a local hunt six times. One day he hopes to be a contestant on The Amazing Race.
