NEA Director

Kala Christensen is the NEA Director representing North Dakota. She is currently a 7th grade ELA teacher in Grand Forks.

About Kala Christensen

Kala is originally from Bottineau, ND. She has a BA in Elementary Education and Spanish from the University of Jamestown and an MEd in Elementary Education from UND. She began her education career teaching high school Spanish and 6th-grade ELA and math in Lakota, ND. She moved to Grand Forks, ND, in 2012, where she taught elementary Spanish and middle school world languages at Twining Elementary/Middle School, before transferring to Valley Middle School, where she currently teaches 7th-grade ELA. When she is not teaching or doing union work, she is reading, crafting, and playing with my mini-Australian Shepherd, Ollie.
