In 2025, We Want YOU to Join Our GROW Team and Lobby Day Efforts

North Dakota United President Nick Archuleta asks for your help in making our voices heard during the upcoming legislative session.

All of us at North Dakota United hope that all of you had the opportunity to enjoy a restful and restorative holiday break. Goodness knows, you have earned as much!

At ND United, we are gearing up for the 69th North Dakota Legislative Assembly, which will commence on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 7. As you can imagine, we will see and hear many proposals coming from elected representatives and senators from every corner of the state. Some will be great ideas like providing universal lunches for North Dakota’s school children and doing something substantive to mitigate the impact of property taxes. Other ideas will be not so great, like spending tax dollars on private and parochial school tuition and the inescapable culture war issues that seem to arise with more frequency each session.

In North Dakota, unlike in other statehouses, every bill gets to be heard in committee and is debated on the floor of each legislative chamber where it is either killed or approved. If it is approved, it gets sent across the hall for a hearing in the other chamber. We do not yet know how many bills will be introduced, but we do know that a record number have been pre-filed. That means that the 80 days of the 69th Legislative Assembly will be long, substantive and action-packed.

One of the great honors of my life is to represent the members of ND United at the Legislature and weigh in on critical issues on your behalf. I can assure you that our lobby team will be there every day of the session to ensure that your voice is heard on the issues that impact you the most. In addition to keeping you up to date on what’s happening at the Capitol, we will help you to use your voice to communicate directly with your representatives and the public so that our friends and neighbors understand how legislative actions impact you and the jobs you do for the people of North Dakota. If I may, I have two asks of you today:

Please CLICK HERE to join our exciting GROW Team. The GROW Team meets regularly with NDU Executive Director, Chad Oban, myself and key staff to discuss what we are seeing at the Capitol and to discuss strategy on how to make an impact on matters before key committees.

CLICK HERE to sign up for NDU Lobby Day 2025! We will gather on Sunday, Feb. 16, in Bismarck for food, fellowship and training, and then hit the Capitol on Monday for a day of conversations with legislators and testimony before key committees.

So, that’s it for now. Thank you all for all you do, and will do, to strengthen our union and serve the people of North Dakota! Here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
